The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade will be introducing 14 logistic zones across 10 governorates, with a total investment of EGP 33.54 billion, and an expected 245,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.

In 2023, two logistics zones, in Gharbia and Beheira and Beheira respectively, were established at a cost of EGP 8 billion and EGP 2.2 billion. The construction and funding of additional logistic zones in Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubiyah are being carried out by five investors who will also manage and operate these facilities.

The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has secured funding of EUR 100 million from the French Agency for Development (AFD) to establish 14 central markets across various governorates. The first central market was inaugurated in Ismailiyah last year, marking the beginning of this initiative.

Additionally, to monitor subsidised staple goods, the ministry is establishing seven modern storage complexes spanning over 1.3 million square metres, with a total cost of EGP 14 billion. Tenders for four complexes located in Suez, Fayoum, Luxor and Sharqia have already been offered, while lands have been delivered to developers for the first three.
