Indian Doctor Offers to Save Morbidly Obese Egyptian Woman Via Twitter

Less than two months ago, a 36-year-old morbidly obese and bedridden Egyptian woman by the name of Iman Ahmed Abdulati took to Facebook to ask for help after all doctors failed to treat her. Today, hope for Abdulati has been renewed as the answer to her call came all the way from India in the form of Indian bariatric surgeon Muffi Lakdawala, reports The Times of India.

However, to receive treatment, Abdulati would have to travel to India, which proved problematic when she was denied a medical visa to the country. So, Dr. Lakdawala took to Twitter to reach out to India's Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, asking her to help grant Abduati the medial visa that could save her life. To his surprise, and that of the entire Internet, Swaraj replied saying: "Thanks for bringing this to my notice. We will definitely help her."
