'Born From Heaven' by Tarik Saleh Wins Best Screenplay at Cannes

Swedish-Egyptian director Tarik Saleh stunned the world with his film ‘Boy from Heaven’, which just won Best Screenplay and the François Chalais Prize at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

Following the story of Adam, the son of a small-town Egyptian fisherman, ‘Boy From Heaven’ tackles the consequences that arise when Adam finds himself embroiled in a massive conspiracy, after being granted the opportunity to study at Cairo's Al-Azhar University and witnessing a gruesome death.

This victory follows Saleh’s many successful endeavors including ‘The Nile Hilton Incident’, a 2017 criminal drama that was nominated for a César award in France and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
