Calligraphy Exhibit at the Cairo Opera House is Open for Submission
The sixth edition of the Cairo International Biennial of the Arabic Calligraphy is accepting submissions before March 31st.
They say the pen is mightier than the sword which is nonsense because have you ever tried to fight someone with a pen before? They're very small. However there is one thing you can't do with a sword and that's create intricate, beautiful pieces of calligraphy. This June, the sixth edition of the Cairo International Biennial of the Arabic Calligraphy is starting a new chapter in the Palace of Arts at the Cairo Opera House, and they've just opened applications for prospective artists.
Celebrating the history and artistry of Arabic calligraphy, the event will host an arts contest, a gallery, and several talks and technical workshops. If you're looking for a chance to win one of their art awards, you will need to submit your piece of calligraphy (preferably on copy paper) before March 31st.
