One of Egypt’s oldest film festivals is rising above the shackles of the pandemic, with some of the highlight films of its election including ‘Yom w Leila’ and ‘Curfew’.

Egyptian Catholic Film Festival Kicks Off in June

The Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema is set to host the 69th edition of its annual film festival, headed by Father Botros Daniel with the help of seasoned producers Magdy Samy and Michael Maher.

Egyptian Catholic Centre for Cinema Festival will be taking place from June 11th to 18th, and will be presenting the Film Leadership Award to veteran actors Hassan Youssef, Hala Fakher, Hussein Fahmy and Suheir Al Morshedy, while the Artistic Creativity Award is set to go to two giants of music: Omar Khairat and Mohamed Mounir.

So far, five films have been announced for screening: ‘Yom w Leila’, ‘Sandouk El Donia’, ‘B Elm Elwesoul’, ‘Saheb El Makam’ and ‘Hazr Tagawol’.
