Relive 1001 Arabian Nights with ‘Tales of Scheherazade’ at TAM Gallery

Faceless figures wander through landscapes of earthly colours, recreating classic scenes from Arabic folklore. In his new exhibit at Zamalek’s TAM Gallery, ‘Tales of Scheherazade’, local contemporary artist Klay Kassem uses layers of paint to manifest scenes straight out of A Thousand and One Nights, giving his character’s clothes thick textures that flow off the canvas, while hypnotizing geometric patterns - inspired by modern and ancient regional art - help lend shape to the dream-like sequences.

‘Tales of Scheherazade’ will be on display at TAM Gallery’s main exhibition hall from September 10th to September 25th. The opening reception will take place this Friday, September 10th, from 6 PM to 10 PM.
