American Arrested in Giza For Allegedly 'Inciting Protests'

Taking no chances, security officials are on high alert and have been deployed just about everywhere in preparation for the fifth anniversary of January 25th revolution. Looking to squash any potential uprising, security forces are detaining anyone calling for protests, with the latest arrest taking place on Sunday in Giza, after accusing a U.S citizen of trying to incite protests.

According to Youm7, the Giza Security Directorate head received a call that a foreigner was talking with people at a cafe in the district of Giza. Immediately the American was met with security forces questioning him about their conversation, which the accused alleges was only about football, talking with people about al-Ahly and Zamalek, claiming he was only trying to learn Arabic, looking to adopt an Egyptian accent.

Very little information beyond the American's arrest has been released, however this continues to bolster beliefs of a zero tolerance policy by security forces as President Sisi recently reiterated that any revolt could destroy the country.
