23 Dead and 17 Injured in Separate Bus Crashes

Two separate bus crashes resulted in the death of 23 people with 17 injured, Sunday. According to Red Sea Director of Emergency Services Husam Gamil, a bus flipped over near the resort city of Hurghada, killing 11 people and injuring 11 others. Over in Wadi Natrun, about 125 kilometres northwest of Cairo, a minibus collided with a truck carrying construction materials causing 12 deaths and 6 injuries according to a senior provincial security official.

Road accidents continue to cause thousands of deaths each year with the World Health Organization noting that traffic accidents claim the lives of about 12,000 people annually.
