At the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced their plans to incorporate climate change education into the national school curriculum.
The ministry has trained 350,000 teachers on the topic of climate change and climate action, including a comprehensive understanding of biodiversity and the many ways in which climate change impacts our communities. The ministry will also organise meetings and seminars with parents to further nourish the conversation and take it outside of the classroom.
