6 Hidden Egyptian Gems

It seems with all that’s happening recently, people have forgotten how beautiful Egypt is.

Bored of all the typical vacation spots like Sahel and Sukhna, I’ve decided to find the hidden gems of Egypt that offer beauty, culture, and nature in its finest forms and will help me remember that despite everything, we live in one of the world’s most magnificent countries.

 1. Abu Galum, Red Sea

Located between Dahab and Nuweiba, Abu Galum is considered one of the most picturesque locations in Egypt.  The wildlife reserve is home to one of the world’s most unique and mostly undisturbed coral reef, spectacular granite mountains, sinuous valleys, fresh water springs and coastal sand dunes.

2. Nayzak, Marsa Alam

Nayzak is a beautiful natural pool that was formed by a meteor hitting the earth. This magnificent area is located approximately 14 km south of Marsa Alam.

3. Hamata, Red Sea

This isolated location is about 180 km south of Marsa Alam. Surrounded by just a few restaurants and a marina, Hamata is the best place to go for relaxation and being one with nature. Over 35 dive sites and 80 types of coral make this one of the best diving locations in Egypt.

4. Al Farafra Oasis, Al Wadi Al Gadeed

Al Farafra is located in the western desert around 627 km from Cairo. Known for its serenity and beautiful weather, Al Farafra offers a wide range of Bedouin culture and tradition. It is also home to some of the world’s most spectacular water wells.

5.    Tunis Village, Fayoum

Formed by a group of intellectual writers, poets and artists in 60s, Tunis Village is one of the most picturesque locations in Fayoum. It is home to Fayoum’s first ecolodge Zad El Mosafer, which offers you many activities like horse riding, bird watching and pottery classes.

6.    Ras Banas, Red Sea

This peninsula located south of Egypt near the Sudanese border is known for its crystal clear water, colorful corals, unique fish and above all, its tranquility and serenity.
