6th of October Bridge Is Closing Down for Two Months

Egypt's traffic authorities have just announced that The 6th of October Bridge will be partially closed for two months starting this Thursday for repairs.

The move comes as part of the Giza governorate's Helwa ya Balady initiative, which aims to renovate the city's major bridges. The repair works are expected to last for 60 days, and road blocks will be put in place to enforce the partial closure. The closure is specifically scheduled from Thursday through Sunday each week, over the span of two months.

A source told Youm7 that maintenance will be carried out by Arab Contractors corporation, in coordination with the municipal authorities in Giza, and it will be limited to the metal struts linking the many sections of the bridge together.
