CAPMAS Launches First National Survey of People With Disabilities
The goal of this survey is to create a database that would give officials an accurate idea of the conditions and needs that people with disabilities have throughout Egypt.
The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) is launching a national census of people with disabilities, the first of its kind in Egypt.
The survey began in late January and will continue on until March 31st. A random selection of households across all governorates were chosen to represent the population of people with disabilities, taking into account the distinction between urban and rural areas within each governorate.
The goal of this survey is to create a database that would give officials an accurate idea of the conditions and needs that people with disabilities have throughout Egypt, and how they differ across various strata such as socio-economic levels.
