Egypt's Marwa Abdel Malek Wins Best Handball Player Award in France

Egyptian handball champ Marwa Eid Abdel Malek, aka Ehsan Abdelmalek, has been recognised as the Player of the Year after a brilliant performance as part of OGC Nice Côte d'Azur Handball team in the French Women's Handball First League.

After earning the title of top scorer of the 2022 season with 143 goals, Abdel Malek has renewed her contract with the Nice handball team, and will compete with them for another three years.

Marwa Eid Abdel Malek comes from an athletic family; her sister Nasra Eid is the goalkeeper of Al Ahly’s handball team, while her other sister Hanan Abdel Malek was the former captain of Al Ahly’s handball team.

Marwa herself was part of Al Ahly’s handball team for 14 years, earning accolades as a top scorer before she left for Europe to become the first Egyptian female handball player to compete professionally abroad. Before she competed in handball, Marwa Eid Abdel Malek played professional football with Wadi Degla for three years.
