Egypt is currently redeveloping the Batn al-Baqara area after transferring its residents to the Asmarat social housing project.
EGP 39 billion has been allocated to redeveloping informal settlements, with EGP 32 billion of that amount having already been spent. EGP 16 billion of the budget is dedicated to renewing Cairo’s urban spaces, while the rest is spent on informal settlements across Egypt.
