EgyptAir Achieves Maximum Score in Mandatory EU Air Safety Test

After inspection by the European Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) programme, EgyptAir's fleet, which includes aircraft working on domestic and international routes, achieved the maximum score in air safety. The news was made public Sunday by EgyptAir's Chairman, Safwat Mosallam, Shorouk News reports.

The SAFA Programme was launched by the European Civil Aviation Conference in 1996 with the mission to inspect and assess the safety of aircrafts which land in Europe but belong to non-European countries. Since 2004, passing SAFA's inspection became a legal obligation for any airline operating in European countries.
