Egyptian Culture Palaces Launch Climate Change Research Competition

Research for sustainable solutions has become a global priority, with discourse on sustainability leading every conversation. In light of Egypt hosting the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces has launched a competition to encourage youth to find ways to adapt and fight climate change. Youths around the country will be incentivised to apply scholarly research proposals for a chance to publish their work and join the conversation.

The competition encompasses three research categories: the impact of climate change on the environment, the effect of climate change on populations, and the role of youth in combating climate change with solutions rooted in the Egyptian context.

Participants are encouraged to apply from October 15th till December 31st, as long as they’re 18 to 35 years old, and their research hasn’t been submitted or published before. The competition is available through all Egyptian culture palaces and youth centres.
