Egyptian Handball Team Heading To Rio Olympics
After defeating Congo and Algeria, the Egyptian handball team is going to the Olympics after Saturday’s victory over Tunisia in the African Handball Cup of Nations.

The fierce game at Cairo Stadium took place in front of more than 17,000 Egyptians including the Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Minister of Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz and ended with a score of 21-19.

The Pharaohs have held the title five times before last Saturday; 1991, 1992, 2000, 2004, and 2008. Egyptian team member Amed Al Ahmar was named the top scorer and best player of the tournament.

This triumph comes on the heels of the Egyptian volleyball team’s win at the African Olympic Qualifiers qualifying them for the Rio Olympics as well.

The 2016 Olympic games will be in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this August.
