Egyptian Team Wins 26 Medals at World Para Powerlifting Championship

The Egyptian Para Powerlifting team secured 26 medals at the World Para Powerlifting Championship, including 11 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and four bronze medals. The championship, which was held from November 3rd to the 5th, took place in 6th of October city, Egypt.

Ten countries participated in the championship including Italy, Algeria, Ghana, Georgia, Namibia, Moldova, Estonia, Hungary and Malawi.

Among the athletes representing Egypt was Rehab Ahmed Radwan, a prominent figure in the national Paralympic weightlifting scene. Radwan, a three-time world champion in 2017, 2019, and 2021, also secured silver medals in both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Her performance in Tokyo broke the Paralympic record when she lifted 117 kg.

Other key participants who contributed to Egypt's victory were Mohamed Elelfat and Mohamed Elmenyawy. They each secured a bronze medal at the Dubai 2023 championship in their respective weight categories, with Elelfat competing in the men's up to 88 kg and Elmenyawy in the men's up to 59 kg.
