Hend Sabry to Star in Arabic Remake of US Drama 'The Good Wife'

It appears we’re well in the age of Arabic remakes. Perfect Strangers, Suits, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and now we can add yet another foreign franchise on that list. Actress Hend Sabry appears to have taken a liking to US drama ‘The Good Wife’ because she’s taken on the task of remaking it for local audiences.

‘The Good Wife’ is a 2009 CBS series about a woman who returns to a career in law after her husband, a prominent attorney, is locked behind bars after a very public corruption scandal. How it’ll play out 13 years later in an Arab context has yet to be seen - although we suppose we have plenty of Arabic remakes to compare it to.

The Arabic version currently has a tentative title of ‘Fe Mahab al Rih’, and will be written by Sherif Badr el Din, with Ahmed Khaled Moussa serving as the director. Actors Eyad Nassar and Maged El Masry will also take part as cast members.

The series will run for 45 episodes, making this the first time Sabry has taken on a series this size.
