New Cairo-Marsa Matrouh Road Cuts Driving Time by Half

Vacationers travelling to Sahel, Marsa Matrouh or Alamein this Eid will have more time to splash around because the commute has apparently just been slashed by half thanks to a new shorter road from Cairo to Marsa Matrouh.

The route, which links Juhayna Square in 6th of October City, Cairo to Ra’s El Hekma village, North Coast and Matrouh, cuts the drive to an hour as opposed to three hours on the old road, according to Dostoor.

The road saves a travelling distance of 100km between Cairo and Marsa Matrouh, according to Bawaba News.

Trial operation of the road has started today as it comes as part of the road network recently implemented by the government.
