New Yacht Harbour Lets You Sail From Red Sea to Saudi Arabia in 30 Minutes

If you ever find yourself sitting on the beach in Dahab, a simple glance over the sea will allow you to see the shorelines at the other side. You wouldn't know it if you weren't expecting it, but that's actually Saudi Arabia. And soon enough, you may be able to safely sail there in less than 30 minutes! The governor of South Sinai, Khaled Fouda, has announced the construction of a new mega yacht harbour project on the southeast coast of Dahab, which will establish a quick and safe 23km maritime connection between Makna in Saudi Arabia and Sinai. After the land is prepped up for construction, the port should take around eight months to complete.

The project’s main goal is to activate a touristic link between the two areas, and to funnel in tourists from the Gulf area into the rest of Sinai. The project is hoped to realize the huge yachting potential that lies dormant by the shorelines of Dahab.
