Newly Trained Safari Guides Will Help You Discover Fayoum

The Ministry of Environment announced the first training programme for safari guides in Fayoum, in collaboration with biodiversity and environmental experts. The programme has completed its third phase under the umbrella of the Egyptian-Italian Cooperation Environmental Project.

The Ecotourism Association and The Ministry of Environment’s collaboration on this project is a combined effort towards sustainable development goals, maintaining Egypt’s eco-tourism by providing safari guide trainees in Fayoum with practical tours and lectures.

The new initiative comes in tandem with the ministry’s plans to work with local communities to promote eco-tourism values and prioritise the efforts of local pillars of the community within their overall strategies.

The project aims to preserve natural resources in Fayoum and protect the nature reserve’s biological diversity. Their goals here will be discussed at COP27, the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will be held in November in Sharm El Sheikh.
