Registration Opens for Third Booster Shot of COVID-19 Vaccine

The Ministry of Health and Population has opened registrations for Egyptian citizens to receive a third 'booster' shot of the COVID-19 vaccine on their website.

The booster shot is currently available for medical workers, people with chronic illnesses and the elderly, numbering well over four million citizens altogether. The third booster shot is meant to be taken six or more months after receiving the second dose of the vaccine.

So far, approximately 40 million Egyptian citizens have been vaccinated against COVID-19, with 29 million citizens having received the first dose, and 15 million citizens having received the second. The Ministry of Health and Population has reported that there are currently over 42 million doses of the vaccine in Egypt that have not yet been used.
