Trukto: The Egyptian Platfrom Hailed as the ‘Uber of Trucking’

Ever since Uber boomed globally in the mid 2010s, there’s been a surge of disruption in regards to transportation services. So it was only a matter of time for on-demand ride services to seep into other facets of transportation.

Trukto, founded in 2017 by Ahmed Khedr and Ali Khadr, is, in layman's terms, the Uber of trucking. The very first platform of its kind in Egypt, and one of the fastest growing in the region, the app facilitates the operation of light, medium and heavy trucks in various sectors of FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), agriculture, medical, automotive and retail, with thousands of trucks currently registered on the platform. Helping connect shippers with truckers, they’ve reached 17,000 clients, and complete thousands of trips every month. To put it simply, Trukto has changed the game.

The platform has afforded greater utilisation to registered drivers with the opportunities to work in areas (industries and work areas) via specialised access granted by Trukto. Furthering their efficiency, they also helped clients save on cost of transportation by using operations technology to organise and arrange the supply, and management of trucks.

Follow Trukto on Facebook, and app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
