Egyptian Businesses Nominated by Forbes in Top 100 Most Powerful Companies in the Middle East

Every year, Forbes MENA compiles a list of the 100 most powerful companies in the Middle East – and this year, four Egyptian companies made it onto the list! Impressive, isn’t it? With our economy so stale and gas prices going up, it’s good to know that some business peoples out there are doing something right.

In fact, Al Mansour Group—a franchise company founded in 1952 which is responsible for McDonalds, General Motors and other big brands—came in fourth place in the top 50 Arab companies.

According to the Forbes MENA website, the top 100 companies were nominated under the basis that they met certain criteria, including “number of employees, number of sectors that the business operates in, number of countries that the company has operations in, transparency, and age of the company.”

The other three companies listed in the top 100 are Commercial International Bank (CIB) coming in at 38th place, El Sewedy Electric at 69th (kharbesh), Orascom Construction Limited at 82nd, and Global Telecom Holding Company at 95th place.

The first on the list is UAE’s Al-Futtaim.
