Cairo's New Administrative Capital Sells 70% of First Phase Development

Cairo's New Administrative Capital's project spokesperson, Khaled el-Husseiny, has revealed that 70% of the project's first phase, which encompasses 17,000 feddans, has been sold, as reported by Egypt Today.

Said to host six international universities from the U.S, Britain, Hungary, Canada, Sweden and France, according to Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, the Capital has already received requests from foreign investors, developers and companies looking to the invest.

Located between the Cairo-Suez road and Cairo-Ain Sokhna road, the New Capital is set to be a sustainable city with focus on social, economic and environmental impact, with Husseiny adding that, “there is a strong political will to develop the promising capital in order for it to be a real model for a smart city.” Husseiny also mentioned that they’ve already received 50 appeals from embassies and diplomatic missions hoping to move their headquarters to the New Capital.

Boasting 20 residential areas with the capacity to house around 6.5 million people, the capital will also have its own international airport and an electric train system with stations connecting to 10th of Ramadan and El Salam Cities. 

Cairo's New Administrative Capital is also planned to have 1, 250 mosques and churches, 2,000 schools and colleges, over 600 medical facilities and what is expected to be the world’s largest park.
