Turkey's Erdogan Receives Lindsay Lohan
In a meeting in Ankara on Friday, Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan, 7-Year-Old Syrian refugee and Twitter sensation Banna Alabed, and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the Syrian plight and called for more efforts to help refugees fleeing the war-torn nation.
Turkish President Reccep Teyyeb Erdogan received Lindsay Lohan at the country's presidential palace on Friday, reports ABC. Banna Alabed, a 7-year-old Syrian girl that gained worldwide recognition after she tweeting about her life and escape from war-torn Aleppo last year, was also present in the meeting.
The Hollywood star has been involved in refugee activism in Turkey since early 2016. "'We want to send [a message] to all of the people in Syria and Aleppo suffering, and to all the refugees; we are here supporting you and you can hang on and be strong. Just like Bana has,' Lohan says in a short video shared by Alabed on twitter, The Daily Mail reports.

Lohan has been vocally supportive of the Turkish government's efforts to host millions of refugees fleeing the devastating civil war in Syria, making Turkey one of the world's biggest refugee-sheltering countries. ''Their efforts in helping Syrian Refugees is truly inspiring," Lohan wrote in an Instagram post after the meeting.
