El Bebany Has Been Serving Kebab in El Helmeya for 120 Years

You don’t need to actually know it, you just need to know that the iconic Aly El Haggar cared enough to mention a kebab restaurant in one of his songs. Located in El Helmeya, the eatery was first established in 1802 for the sole reason of making kebabs. Fast forward 120 years, and they’re still doing the same exact thing.

Located in El Helmeya, one rarely stumbles upon a joint that has been operating for over a century. El Bebany stood the test of time because upon entering the shop, you’ll instantly be transported somewhere, el zaman el gameel if you will, where Egyptian food wasn’t only eaten but celebrated.
