Cocoon Culture Hosts Upcycling Fashion Workshop from September 28th

Cocoon, a Downtown Cairo cultural centre, has teamed up with fashion brand and social enterprise ALMAH to curate an in-depth upcycling workshop. For five days, participants will have the opportunity to explore their creative skills in the world of moda with ALMAH creative director Youssre Abdelkader along with a team of designers, seamstresses and tailors.

The workshop will provide budding designers with studio space, fabric scraps, cutting tables, sewing machines, and jewellery that you can use to create your eco-friendly masterpiece. 50% of the proceeds will go towards the Egyptian Clothing Banks’s work in distributing and upcycling clothes for underprivileged communities in Egypt.

ALMAH exclusively designs one-of-a-kind pieces through unused donated clothing that is given to the Egyptian Clothing Bank, making them one of the most specialised upcyclists in the local fashion scene.

Their workshop will be held at the Egyptian Clothing Bank's headquarters in Mokattam on Atef Madkor St from Tuesday, September 28th to Saturday, October 2nd. You can choose between attending all five days for EGP 760, or opt for a three day pass for EGP 555.
