Famed Interior Designer Ramzi Makram-Ebeid Launches Leather Tote Label

Interior and furniture design studio Human Nature, the brainchild of designer Ramzi Makram-Ebeid, has come out with an all-new fashion venture— Wear Human nature. With Ebeid’s history of boutique design, the leather bags brand adopts the same commitment to quality and flair for minimalism present in his home designs. The brand is debuting their first collection with a focus on handmade leather totes, which are fiercely functional and made entirely by Egyptian hands.

“I’m as much a minimalist and functionalist in my fashion as I am in my interiors and furniture designs, and I was having a hard time finding a city bag that was comfortable to carry, durable, timeless style-wise and, most importantly, functional,” Ebeid tells SceneStyled. His designs are timeless, understated, and genderless. Perfect for everyday use, the totes' dimensions and laid-back style make them ideal for a day at the office or a morning coffee run.

“I started designing the first bag over a year ago,” Ebeid recalls. “It’s a lot more complicated then I had imagined it to be, but it has also been a thrill to design and learn something different than my usual with new goals, new requirements and even new constraints.”

The designer was inspired to found his boutique firm Human Nature when his iPod Shuffle malfunctioned during a jog, and he was trapped in a loop of Madonna singing “It’s human nature!”, giving birth to its name. Now, it’s taken on a life of its own and grown into one of Egypt’s most flourishing studios. Their venture into fashion has already transcended borders, being currently displayed at Los Angeles concept store ‘The Optimist’. Ebeid has designed two new fashion products and is hoping to launch them by the middle of this summer. As for what is to come next for Wear Human Nature, Ebeid envisions an entire line of leather fashion accessories that help make our lives a little easier, maintaining a laid back, minimal and elegant style.
