Rebel Releases New Line of Knitted Niceties
Known and loved for their artful illustrations, Rebel Cairo’s most recent collection shifts the label’s focus from scarves to knits under the title ‘The Rebel Spectrum’.
Come the crisp autumn weather and winter’s brutal chill, the cosiest and most luxuriously spun pieces become genuine lifesavers - knitwear. Known and loved for their artful illustrations, Rebel Cairo’s most recent collection shifts the label’s focus from scarves to knits under the title ‘The Rebel Spectrum’.
Their custom-developed threads fuses Rebel Cairo’s signature illustrative prints with the large, abstract shapes that employ bold colour-blocking palettes, ranging from yellow to pink, black to orange. While their earlier collections were largely made up of summer items that acted as a lightweight accessory or cache maillot, ‘The Rebel Spectrum’ is a reinvention of everything Rebel Cairo buyers love about the brand reimagined for the colder season. In a collection of midi cardigans and tasselled scarves, they’ve also taken on popular iconography like snakes (not the Gucci kind) and the Italian cornicello - a single red chilli pepper meant to bring good luck.
Launched by graphic artist Dara Hassanein, Rebel Cairo represents a refreshing convergence of minimalism and vibrancy that intermingles in her designs, resulting in something understated and feminine all at once.
