Say Yes to These Dresses by Maram Borhan

Fashionista to the stars, couture designer Maram Borhan has dressed the likes of Yousra, Mona Zaki, and Dina Dash. Her journey began back in 2009, when she opened the doors to The Boutique, where she gathered a highly curated group of gowns.

“I always say that my career as a buyer began with the birth of my son, and my career as a designer began with the birth of my daughter,” Borhan tells SceneStyled. Borhan has since grown to become one of the most recognizable names in the world of bridal and couture, with her most recent accomplishment being her inclusion amongst Forbes’ list of ‘Women Behind Middle Eastern Brands’ for 2022, and her collaboration with international e-commerce platform FarFetch on their 2022 Ramadan capsule collection.

Borhan’s signature design style places textural layering at front and centre, creating rich silhouettes that are filled with depth, and drawing heavy inspiration from flora and fauna. Lush, feminine creations are her piece de resistance.

Before entering the world of design, Borhan learned the art through retail. After travelling the world for fashion weeks, and collaborating with design houses to create capsule collections for her boutique, Borhan was determined to bring back her newfound skill-set to Egypt’s workshops and elevate the couture industry in the country. Years later, she emerges as one of its brightest. Learn more about the designer in our sit-down interview with her as Borhan walks us through her glittering journey.
