It's not particularly easy managing a career or a home while also trying to have a little fun. Come the weekend, like it or not, if you aren't already on top of shit, with reservations and all, you could easily find yourself lost as to what to do, ending up at sketchy ass parties or having yet another extended ME session. So in an effort to spare you a life with boring weekends, the worst kind of life, we've put together a weekly guide with all the events happening over the weekend, complete with locations, reservation numbers, and everything in between. So without further ado, here's your CairoScene Weekend Guide:
THURSDAY
11TH PANORAMA OF THE EUROPEAN FILM
Back for its eleventh edition, the Panorama of the European Film is set to showcase the best of cinema from around Europe, with screenings set to take place in organiser Zawya's new home, Karim Cinema, as well as Zamalek Cinemas. With over 60 films and several workshops and masterclasses, it's the biggest edition yet, with select screenings also happening all across Egypt in cities as far and wide as Alexandria's, Port Said, Ismailia and Gouna and there will also be one-off screenings in Assiout, Damietta, Mansoura, Minya, Qena and Zagazig.

THE DOORS TRIBUTE NIGHT @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
Jim Morrison led American rock band The Doors came to be regarded as one of the most successful bands in history and most significant of the 60’s psychedelic rock era. This is why CJC is dedicating an entire night paying tribute to them this Thursday 8th, with the help of only the finest musicians in Cairo. Partaking in the very special tribute are George Aboutar, Hany Mustafa, Ahmed Salah, Mohammed Mallawany, Omar Sherif, Omar Magdy, Marwan Wahid, Maged Faltas and Sherif Elias.

A big night of house awaits at The Tap West in Sheikh Zayed this Thursday, as Misty, David Penn and Deeb Jr take to the stage to kick the weekend off in style.

Sudanese vocalist and percussionist Asia Madani will be performing traditional Sudanese folklore as well as music from various African regions at Darb 1718's monthly music gathering.

PAPER TRAILS II @ GYPSUM GALLERY
Gypsum Gallery teams up with founder of Adsum Art Consultancy once more for the second edition of Paper Trail - a group exhibition that is exclusively devoted to works on paper, bringing together everything from drawings and watercolours, to monoprints and collages.

ARABIC MOOD FT SAMER GEORGE @ ROOM ART SPACE
Vocalist Nouran AbuTaleb and bassist Samer George team up for a special gig at ROOM Art Space that will see the duo perform some of the biggest Arabic pop hits of the last three decades, but with their own little twist.

FRIDAY
MOVEMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL @ HORREYA PARK
They're back! The cheeky chappies of Sharmoofers perform their first full concert in nine months at Zamalek's Horreya Park, where they will also be doing their part to raise awareness of men's health issues - hence Movember. Get it? With doors opening at 3PM, a big day awaits, with several food and drink vendors set to set up shop in the park and the Arabic retro tunes of the always dependable Disco Misr set to act as a tasty little appetiser.
