Gardening Hub Grow Pro Has a Green Thumb for Everyone

Grow Pro is a one-stop shop for everything you need to kickstart your at-home farming venture. Conceptualised by urban farming enthusiasts Mostafa Sayed and Cariman El Alfy, their mission is to encourage Cairenes to grow their own food, whether they’re gardening on the rooftops or tending to small herbs off the side of the balcony.

“A lot of things in Egypt are labelled as organic when they aren’t. But without variety, you don’t have the luxury of choosing foods that cater to your palette,” El Alfy tells #Cairoscene. “We grow five different kinds of basil for example, which are flavours we are being deprived of. We’re restricted in terms of the quality and options we have locally.”

Grow Pro sells ready-to-use systems and seedlings that give users a short-cut to the whole gardening business at their New Cairo rooftop gardening centre. The co-founders also host free workshops for customers, and are always available to spare a few tips on how to break into the gardening game.
