Wadi Degla Virtual Museum Releases Nature-Inspired Clothing Line
The ‘Wadi Degla Virtual Museum’ project has announced the launch of a new online store selling clothes and other products inspired by Wadi Degla’s most famous animals and plants.
We’ve all heard of Maadi’s Wadi Degla Protectorate. You know, that place all the Cairo cool cats headed to during lockdown to host outdoor parties amidst its gorgeous desertscapes. Well, their baby, the ‘Wadi Degla Virtual Museum’ project, has announced the launch of a new online store selling clothes and other products inspired by Wadi Degla’s most famous animals and plants - and it’s actually super cute.
The clothing line comes as a part of the Wadi Degla Virtual Museum’s partnership with the Egyptian clothing design and production company Mazourty. Mazourty is a manufacturing company that has been around for decades, but only recently ventured into the digital realm for Cairenes to see. Their first releases are 100% Egyptian cotton hoodies based on the Arabian red fox, the white-crowned wheatear, the sooty falcon, and the Gordy plant.Through virtual reality (VR) glasses, the museum displays three 360-degree videos about the geological history of the Wadi Degla Reserve, the biodiversity and ecosystems of the valley, and the tourist and educational activities that take place there. Now, their new online shop will help Wadi Degla Virtual Museum spread knowledge about Egypt’s natural heritage while allowing nature fans to support their conservation efforts. To take a look, you can shop on their Facebook page at f/WadiDeglaVM.
