Moroccan Label Sarah Maj Drops Earth-Toned Fall/Winter Collection

The ochre dunes and winding alleyways of Marrakech beckon Moroccan-Italian designer Sarah Maj back to her studio each season for creative inspiration, and this time, the designer sought to capture the immersive experience of a leisurely stroll through the medina. For the label's FW 23/24 line, Maj drew upon the tactile textures, vibrant hues, and intricate patterns that surrounded her to fashion a collection that embodies the essence of Autumn.

An earth-toned romance, the Sarah Maj Fall/Winter 2023 collection showcases flowing separates and intimate dresses crafted from off-white, stone, burgundy, and olive fabrics. Intricate patterns and subtle stripes grace a multitude of pieces, from the countryside-inspired 'Eugenie' skirt, featuring a tapestry of interwoven florals, to the 'Fatine' dress, which gracefully billows in shades and stripes of brown and beige, its relaxed shape underscored by delicate pleats. A quintessential autumnal silhouette, the double-breasted 'Katerine' coat, made from luxurious wool and cashmere in a lush olive hue, offers both warmth and sophistication.

Established in 2009, Sarah Maj is the eponymous label of designer Sarah Maj. Growing up with a childhood split between Italy and Morocco exposed Maj to a diverse range of cultural influences, igniting her passion for designing clothing that seamlessly fuses European and North African aesthetics.

Operating between Italy and Morocco, Maj is committed to crafting collections under the Sarah Maj brand that convey the emotions of her nomadic upbringing. She places a strong emphasis on sourcing locally produced fabrics and collaborating with artisans worldwide to champion sustainability.

Maj's designs aim to delicately blend the rich textures of Moroccan craftsmanship with the memories of her studies and exposure to European influences. Through her romantic silhouettes embellished with discerning details, Maj continues to draw inspiration from her lifelong appreciation of both facets of her cultural identity for her brand.
