Egypt's Global Advertising Will Get a 2021 Glowup

After the Coronavirus shut down international travel for a few months and effectively cut our tourism in half, there's a need to put out some reminders of everything potential visitors may have missed. They're not all subscribed to #CairoScene, after all.

And look at what they would've missed out on this year alone. One archaeological marvel after another, one-two, putting us off our balance long enough to floor us with the next revelation. Lion cub mummies? Colourful statues? 59 coffins in Saqqara, no wait, one HUNDRED perfectly preserved coffins in Saqqara? It just kept coming, and with them, the museums that would house these treasures - from the recent openings at Kafr El-Sheikh and Sharm El-Sheikh, to the eventual unveiling of the Grand Egyptian Museum next year. Don't even get us started on the coral reefs, and the projects that were started to protect them. We need to save some material for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, who will soon launch a three-year promotional campaign abroad to encourage international tourists to visit the country.

The campaign will include an integrated promotional, marketing and media strategy, all to be organised and carried out by an unrevealed major international company chosen by the Egyptian Tourism Federation. Several officials from the ETF discussed the groundwork for the campaign, as well as the strategy for appealing to and attracting tourists from countries across the globe.
