Explore Peru With Omar Samra & Wild Guanabana

In Peru there is a journey that will take you to the epic peaks of the Andes Mountains, and it is there that Egypt-based adventure community Wild Guanabana will guide you on a trek that is sure to take your breath away - and not just from the altitude!

Led by founder and famed Egyptian mountaineer Omar Samra, this expedition will invite hikers to immerse themselves in Peru’s endlessly rich cultural heritage by eating local food, meeting the people who live here, and learning new camping skills.

Climbers will load up their camping equipment and head out to Cutatambo, which you might recognise as the place where the alpine docudrama ‘Touching the Void’ took place. On the way, they’ll get beautiful views of Siula, Sarapo, Lake Sarapochocha and several more locations that spotlight the sheer diversity of the mountain trail.

This trip is designed to allow for proper acclimatization prior to ascending to high altitudes so you don't need to worry about shortness of breath, dizziness, insomnia, and a loss of appetite. Now, it’s not an easy trek but it is undoubtedly beautiful and rewarding. You will be hiking an average of five to eight hours per day so you need to be fit enough to be able to hike for this long for eight consecutive days.

The trip is priced at USD 2,850 per person including meals, accomodation, supplies, and entry tickets. The price does not include flight tickets. Accommodation is on a double basis (tents and ecolodges) with local guides trained in first aid. The group will depart from Cairo on July 7th. To book, visit wildguanabana.com.
