While you may remember the salt-sprinkling man starring most of our 2017 memes as just that, a meme, the truth is that Turkish butcher, chef and restaurateur Nusret Gökçe (nicknamed Salt Bae) is of much more culinary significance than what meets the chronically online eye. Salt Bae is actually the founder and owner of Nusr-Et, a chain of luxury steakhouses, and gourmet burger joint Saltbae - which just opened in the Grand Airport of Istanbul.
