This Yoga Retreat Brings You to the Red Sea Shores of Egypt's Soma Bay

A small peninsula surrounded on all sides by the Red Sea, Soma Bay is an isolated getaway in Egypt - about 47 km from Hurghada International Airport - that is populated by high-end resorts and endless opportunities for kitesurfing. In this bubble of beachside zeal, there is space for calm and self-reflection, the kind you can only get with a meditative yoga session by the shimmering Red Sea shore. Egyptian yoga studio Lotus Yoga & Wellness is offering a three day ‘Revive Retreat’ led by yoga teacher Nina Kabbany and meditation instructor Lamia, where participants can engage in a rich programme of activities under the palm thatch roofs of Sharm El Naga Lodge.

Beginners are more than welcome to this long weekend of self-discovery, which involves a series of energy healing workshops and twice-daily yoga and meditation sessions. Between sea purifying rituals and gentle sunset yoga sequences, participants will be able to lounge in the sand and explore the colourful Red Sea reefs that lay beneath Soma Bay’s waters.

The Revive Retreat runs from October 13th to October 16th, with prices starting from EGP 6000 (about $380) per person. Costs include air conditioned accommodation, food and drink, as well as transport to and from Cairo. Travellers to Egypt need to present a negative PCR test upon boarding their flights that is no older than 72 hours.
