Memaar Al Morshedy Win Prestigious Forbes Middle East Award

This has been an exciting year of achievements for homegrown real estate developers Memaar Al Morshedy Group. After winning Forbes Middle East’s 2019 Best Residential Developer Award, and placing in the Guinness World Records with their Official Attempt at building the largest residential building in the world, they’ve marked their place as one of the biggest real-estate names in the region.

Owner and CEO of the company, Hassan Morshedy accepted the award and spoke at the Forbes ME’s Building the Future conference, which took place in Dubai.

His talk focused on the development of affordable housing. On his official Instagram account, Morshedy shared that Memaar Al Morshedy has “already had two successful projects for that target segment ['those not privileged enough to buy expensive houses'], delivering more than 35,000 apartments... I think there’s always room for improvement and growth. A company’s philosophy shouldn’t always be about profits, but social impact as well.”

Another huge addition to their list of achievements was their Official Attempt to break the 2019 Guinness World Record for the world’s largest residential building with their stellar project Skyline. Covering a total area of about 200,000 square metres and located in Kattameya, their third project is the product of studying and designing people's dream lifestyles.

Equipped with roof gardens, an infinity pool, cycling paths, a cinema and even ice skating rinks, a variety of units are offered. The units range from small studios to three-room apartments overlooking open green fields and glittering bodies of water.

“Our main aim was not to achieve the Guinness World Records Official Attempt Title with this project [Skyline], but instead, to bring to Egypt a unique living experience, one worthy of their investment,” Mohamed El Morshedy, founder and owner of Memaar Al Morshedy, told Invest-Gate.

Founded in 1983, Al Morshedy brought together a team of like-minded architects and talented engineers that would make up Degla for Real Estate Developments, which is considered the pillar of the company.

Building on the huge success Skyline brought along, Memaar Al Morshedy are set to build a new 1,000-faddan resort named Zahra in Egypt's North Coast, in collaboration with one of the leading design houses in Latin America and the same phenomenal international team of architects: Mohamed Hadid from L.A., Amsterdam's VDP, and Egypt's Raef Fahmy Architects. Not only that, but a new portfolio of properties in Greece is also underway!

Aiming to leave a positive impact on their community, Memaar Al Morshedy have never fallen short of providing the best and latest innovative designs and world-class structures using their intellectual and creative capital to expand in and beyond the region.
